Volunteers

The Walk depends on volunteers like you to recruit walkers and sponsors, as well as assist with helping the event run smoothly. Join our planning committee of enthusiastic veterans. By volunteering, you can help raise funds for autism treatments and make a positive difference for families in Northern Virginia.

We need people to serve on committees, prepare for the event, and volunteer on Walk day. Simply click on the link below to send an email and a Walk committee member will contact you to discuss specific volunteer opportunities.

Sample tasks of Walk committee volunteers:

  • Recruit corporate sponsors
  • Meet with local organizations as well as civic and youth leaders to recruit participants
  • Distribute Walk posters and brochures throughout Northern Virginia.
  • Assist with securing entertainment, security, registration, children’s activities, resource fair participants, silent auction items, setup, cleanup, and other logistical tasks.
  • Generate promotional opportunities for the Walk for Autism – Virginia through various media outlets and businesses.

Sample tasks on Walk Day:

  • Help with set up and take down of tables and Walk signage.
  • Check in walkers and distribute t-shirts at the registration tables.
  • Provide food and drinks to participants.
  • Monitor children’s activities

Please contact us at info@walkforautismva.org to register to volunteer.
